Cincinnati Focus Group Considers Look of New Casino

Nearly 200 Cincinnati inhabitants spent their Saturday afternoon in a collective brainstorm plan to discuss how the city casino’s appearance would be. The development company of the casino, which has already been approved, was interested in the ideas of citizens and listened to what city residents would like the casino to look like. The ideas expressed by the crowd focused on how to limit light and noise pollution, as well as the importance of energy-efficient construction. “We want it to be beautiful, it’s going to be something we can be proud of – said a community member - but at the same time, we want the developer to be considerate of the environment”.

Environmentally friendly Casino Construction

Cincinanti‘s community members including local architects and business owners have focused their attention on the environment, especially on how the casino – which is scheduled to open in 2012 – will fit into the Pendelton neighborhood. “We’re just trying to create guidelines, principals that address the concerns that people have talked about, in terms of what people would like to see with the casino” said John Kornbluh, an architect who helped organize the meeting. “We’re all coming together to help guide the developer on how the building would integrate and what to be sensitive of”, said another volunteer who participated. The citizens also proposed to incorporate a green roof into the parking structure that can also be used as a park.

Poker star Vanessa Rousso recently released her own advice on how to eat when playing poker telling how a strict diet is crucial to winning at the table. In a recent interview the 27-year-old poker pro claimed that eating too many carbohydrates could reduce players’ chances of success in tournaments. “One of the secrets to going deep in a main event is mental and physical endurance. Keeping track of your blood sugar level and not bloating up on too many carbs or processed sugars will really help you do well during the course of a tournament. When I play poker like to start out with muesli or oatmeal and that’s pretty much the only carbs I’ll have all day. I’ll also have some orange juice and hard-boiled eggs – which should be in there somewhere for protein.”
