A
Aces up: Two pairs, one of which formed from aces.
Add-on: The chance to purchase some other chips beyond the buy.
All-in: Play all the Chips remained in an only hand. Move in it’s a synonymous.
Ante: Compulsory bet for all the present players to the table independently from the position. It usually happens in the end of the tournaments.
B
Bankroll: The money owned by each player which is in the game.
Big Blind: It’s a compulsory bet posted before the cards are dealt, it’s made by the player who stands two places after the dealer. It represents the slightest pot of the hand.
Blind: Another compulsory bet, which is posted before the cards are dealt, it’s made by the player who stands immediately after the dealer.
Bluff: Deception by a false show of confidence in the strength of your cards.
Board: Cards in common to all the players. They also are called community cards.
Bottom Pair: Pair made up of one of your own cards and one of the board.
Bring in: It’s the first bet after the flop.
Bubble: In a tournament is the ranking of the first player ranked out of the prize list.
Busted (to be): Being struck out of a tournament.
Button: Detect who currently is the dealer.
Buy in: Amount of money requested to play in a tournament.
C
Check: Not to raise in a hand.
Check dark: At first position it means to check before the flop.
Check-out: To fold instead of checking.
Check-Raise: To do a check and then, eventually, set off against a bet.
Chop (the pot): When the pot it’s shared between two or more rounders.
Community Cards: Go and see the definition of board.
Cut-off: It’s the player standing at the dealer’s right.
D
Dealer: Marked by the button points out the rounder which should deals the cards. In on-line gaming is important to set the betting order.
Dealer-advantage: Il dealer benefits for his position betting after all other players: he can see what they’ve done and think better about his action.
Double-up: Betting all in while playing an hand gives the chance of double your own stack.
Double chance: The chance gave by some tournaments of increasing the amount of chips of each player buying an extra fee.
Draw: To play aiming a Flush or a straight.
E
Early Position: The opposite of Dealer-advantage.
Expected value (EV): What a player expects to win (or to lose) with a certain action.
Even money: A hand which has 50% of winning chances or I’ts really closest to.
