Devilfish Ulliot’s autobiography at Poker in the Park

Poker in the Park 2010, the fourth annual edition of the London festival that will run from Thursday September 2nd trough Friday September 3rd, will launch the new autobiogrhaphy of David ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, the safe cracker turned poker champ. “Devilfish: The Life and Times of a Poker Legend” will be presented at 7pm on Friday 3rd September, in the second and final day of Europe’s biggest poker festival.

Devilfish has written a truly memorable book about his extraordinary life, telling how a man like him, from a council house “so small we had to paint furniture on the walls”, with an innate gambling addiction and criminal friends, who had served two prison terms for burglary and safe-cracking, who was in so many street fights he started carrying a gun on the streets of Bradford, could end up doing something as respectable as playing poker. Reading Ulliot’s book is like sitting with him in a pub. Ulliot does an excellent job of explaining how it is not about the money but the need to play. It doesn’t matter where you come from, poker attracts anyone who wants a thrill.
